The documentary is one of my latest discoveries. I noticed that it has power over me and others, that it has the ability to change us, people, just by showing us who we are and what we do. I like it because it calls for reflection and contemplation has always been one to bring about change. Beyond the picture and the statistical data of a documentary film, hides the essence, the idea, the calling, the impetus. Reflecting on the problems of humanity, the documentary seeks to make the world a slightly better place. I wish the same thing myself.

In my opinion, a truly valuable film not only transfers me to the world it created, but also makes my world become inconceivable without it. I am grateful that I was able to see such films. Art, including the art of film, has indeed the power to change lives. It’s a power that I winessed myself in my own experience so far.

In my free time, I find refuge in music, books or movies. I fell in love with documentaries two years ago, when I was asked to be part of the project “A World to Be Seen.” I knew even then that the project would meet all my expectations. I love documentaries because they are educational and present stories, experiences, true emotions, life lessons. Documentaries helped me broaden my own horizons, overcome my own limitations, as well as take a position.

Matei Vişniec said that art is the only solution against the brainwashing ocurring in this century of misinformation. The refuge I have chosen is the film. Spielberg said that if you wanted to become a great director, you didn’t need a university degree, but experience, gained by transferring your own vision, your own message, your own frustrations into films. This is what I want to do as well in the near future, but for now I’m a photographer and cameraman for my school, where I have the opportunity to train and lay the foundations that will later support my major projects.

Passion for film comes from my father. My love for the documentary grew with the pride that I saw on his face when his film was ready. Perhaps that was the moment I wanted to see myself „with what eats” this profession. I recently made some short films that increase desire of creating new screenplays, filming new stories and sending new messages. I strongly believe that in our century, the documentary is one that can change opinions and beliefs, convincing people to change or at least want to believe in them.
